Portofino has new owners and is now Waterfront Apartments. I wrote a review of this complex on 1/05 giving it an excellent rating. One year later I am writing to say that it is now not a good place to live. There is a serious problem with barking dogs in this apartment complex, from owners who leave their dogs out in the small fenced patios all day and /or all night while they are gone. Even after several complaints by renters in the complex, the management has not addressed the issue. Also, many dog owners do not pick up their dog's waste, even though bags are provided. Several cars have been broken into. There used to be a security guard on duty every night. Now you have to call a security office off the premesis and they send someone, when they get around to it. The secured entrance by the office is often broken. I have had someone disconnect my cable and hook up theirs illegally. There has been an incident with a drunk tenant(under-age, with a baby in the home) yelling and swearing from his balcony in the middle of the night. I had a broken air conditioner during 100 degree weather, which wasn't fixed for a week. I have had chemical fumes from repairs in a neighboring apartment fill my apartment through the ventilation system, which took them two days and two complaints to address. I'm looking for another place to live. All these hassles are disappointing, because I have a nice apartment here, and there are some very nice, responsible tenants living here whom I will miss.
