When we first moved in, under the Portofina management, repairs were promptly done and service was professionally, courteously given. With the change over to Waterfront Apts, we soon saw maintenance become lackadaisical and it took 2-3 demands to get things fixed. When our A/C went out last summer, we were assured that'the hotel up the road' knew about the situation and would automatically put us up for the night on Waterfront's tab. Nope! We arrived to find that, predictably, no one there was informed. Thank god for credit. The 2nd day, we were assured that the a/c problem had been fixed. It wasn't. I watched the thermostat go down to 93, then bounce right back up 100. I marched to the office and demanded fans to get us through the 2nd night, rather than go further into hock for a motel room. The office manager refused to even acknowledge my 'sit in' and finally called for a maintenance man to 'come deal with me'. A neighbor loaned us an oscillating fan, and with one of own own, we made it through a sweltering night. And yes, we did deduct our motel room from the next month's rent. In building E, our hot water frequently was out for the past 2 years because the heating system was computerized and management was too cheap to replace the faulty component. They kept resetting it, hours later, instead. At this time, there is a slow leak in a pipe under our kitchen sink, and our door lock mechanism has worn out -- our keys will no longer easily lock our front door. Is it any wonder we are moving' Although there are attractive-sounding move-in specials posted all over the property, I would advise potential renters to keep looking...
