Well, I haven't experienced ghosts, but I haven't experienced a responsive or courteous management staff either. It is true that there has been a complete turnover of management staff, and, in my opinion not for the better. In the 29 months that I have been a resident at the Alexan, I have seen various changes in the management team--none as significant as the recent turnover of the Property Manager position. The new manager is unfriendly, and delivers only the "can't do" messages. For instance, when we asked about carpet cleanings (never expressing that we weren't willing to pay for it) as part of our lease renewal, she only came out of her office to say "No." I guess that we were signing our third lease with the Alexan wasn't as important to her as limiting the amount of carpet cleanings on her property. For as much as the Alexan's rent is, I would like the Property Manager to meet us in the middle. When we express frustration that residents are storing their unsightly dumpsters in front of their homes, her response was to make excuses and the problem remains. A simple problem with a simple solution, and her option was not to act. If she would like the Alexan to promote a shanty-town atmosphere, she is certainly doing the right thing. However, I won't be renewing my lease a fourth time; that's not how I choose to live.
