Okay, I've lived here now for about five months and my experience has been really good. I'll have to tell you some back story. I was living in Broadstone Desert Horizon (formerly Arabian Trails), and they allowed five people to move into a two bedroom right above my apartment, so I decided it was time to go, and paid to buy out of my lease. The day I made that decision, I came over to Alexan with the boyfriend and looked at a one bedroom. They showed me my exact apartment, and I was able to sign a lease the same day. Things went VERY smooth. Nothing was broken, and this was a first time good experience for me moving into an apartment here in the Phoenix area. So here's my take on the apartment complex.

My apartment is a nice size for a couple. It's 796 LIVABLE sq. feet.. and the space is used very well. The only complaint we have is lack of closets.

There is a garage attached the each unit, which is good because parking here, otherwise, is SLIM. This would be my one real big complaint, lack of guest parking spots. However, you do have a driveway you can park in.. and if you have a two bedroom you also get a two car garage. We have a one care in our one bedroom, but we have one car, so it works.

There are nice little amenities. The office has a coffee bar, business center, movie rental set up, and a gym. Of course they have a pool, and it is a 24 hr pool with a hot tub.

The grounds are kept well. An issue if you have a dog is lack of grassy areas.. but there's enough to make use of. They also keep pet pick up stations near the grass, so this is helpful too.

Noise.. well there is a firewall between each unit, and I can't usually hear anything from my neighbors.. except one next to me, who is constantly yelling at her boyfriend, and she has a yappy dog. My dog is very quiet so I dont have much tolerance for a yappy dog, but we rarely hear him.. walls are that thick, especially in the bedroom on the third floor, you can't hear much of anything from there. For an apartment in which you're attached to three neighbors, the noise factor isn't bad at all.

Safety - Well, usually the gates work, but they've been broken about once every couple months since I moved in. Particularly the back gate. Even when they don't work, I feel pretty safe. Unlike other complexes, the office is not inside of the gate, so they are closed 24/7, which is a really nice feature. There is also a safety lock on the front door, but I doubt anyone would really try to break in anyway, it'd take a lot of effort and they'd be heard. It's also wired for a security system, but I don't want to invest in one, it could be helpful I guess for some people though. There is a sprinkler system in case of fires set up, as well, so that's all covered too.. and as I said, firewalls between each apartment. I feel really safe here.

Construction - The building itself seems stable. Nothing has broken yet in my apartment construction wise, and as I said, the walls seem pretty thick. I'm happy with the apartment in this regard.

I can't really comment on maintenance, I havent needed them yet.. but there is a 24/7 maintenance line so you can get work orders in ASAP. Only thing Ive had go out is light bulbs and I'm not one to make them replace those.

The staff, I haven't really dealt with a lot except when I moved in. BIG PROPS to Jessica in the office, who had us set up with a new apartment REAL QUICK. She made moving a lot less stressful.

Overall it's a nice complex and I've had a good experience so far. Utilities are a little high, we pay 50 extra bucks a month on our rent for them, but you get curb side trash pick up which is a big bonus. There are pros and cons but the pros outweigh the cons big time. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

You should make them change the bulbs, we pay for the maintenance, why not?
