I moved in Oct. 2004.
Scottsdale cove was perfect. Quiet, Lots of ameneties and Nice landscaping.
Since Montecito has taken over it is not so nice.
Lanscaping is terrible. Walls and windows are paper thin and I have not had a good night sleep for the longest time because of outside noise and disturbances.
Alot of the amenities such as pool, exercise room, parking, water, cable etc... have been taken away because of the transistion to condos.
I thought about buying these places to make a quick buck but thought against it.
Reason why:
outdated appliances, termites, ants that you will constantly have to have sprayed for. The thin walls and windows, When it rains it leaks through the windows, floors, and air conditioning unit. And it has old wall paper and carpet etc... Needs alot of work for an as is unit.
If you want the bells and whistles... (new appliances and paint etc... For a 2 Bed 2 Bath with 1 car port (extra for another
car port or garage) it's $200,000 - 250,000.
Also HOA is about $200-300
Just be smart and get a home inspection before purchase. You may save yourself that way if you do buy.
Who knows though. It's Scottsdale. You probablly could make a profit but it's a gamble since housing is begining to out number demand. Also, a large amount of apartments are turning into condos in Scottsdale which may bring too much competition making it a buyers market again. Do your research.
You could do just as well getting a house for the same money.
