So awful From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 7/2/2003 Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2003   The Overlook was fine a few years ago. However, now, the grounds are in bad shape. THe lights around the complex are always out, fitness center is a joke (the machines haven't worked since we've lived here), you are charged for parking, as well as pets, and washer/dryer which aren't even full size. The appliances are easily older than I am and very very small. (I think our dishwasher has only worked on its own twice in the past two years.) The maitenance staff though very nice, never gets their messages to fix things so you have to wait weeks to get something fixed, and the office staff are so incredibly rude and constantly make mistakes on your rent and send you bills that you don't actually owe. The rent was also raised again this past Spring, although for what we can't figure out. The other renters here are for the most part, late teens, early 20's who want the zip code of scottsdale and have trashed the place. MY husband and I were woken in the middle of the night last Spring to the Police in a stand off with our downstairs neighbors, and the funny thing was, when we inquired about what happened (wanting to know for our personal safety)the office staff told us "it was a disagreement between a renter and the courtesy patrol." HA! Twenty Scottsdale police officers yelling, with guns drawn and police dogs on hand is hardly that! My husband and I are counting the days to get out of here. Stay away from this hole!
