Ok, first off, we never had the opportunity to look at the apartment that we were gonna live in. We were showed a model in the north complex, but wound up in the Indian Bend (south) portion, needless to say, we were very disappointed. The apartment is old and had nasty carpet in it. The toilet had to be replaced, but in all, I believe it took several maintenance people around 5 weeks to finally finish everything. I also had another issue with the shower. After 5 visits from the creepy maintenance guys, I gave up and have dealt with the problem (ie. ignored) for a few months now.
The office staff were very friendly before move-in, but have consistently gotten worse throughout our time here. They are rude and tend to ignore issues and just drop the ball. When my roommate and I (in addition to half of the women around the complex) had undergarments and other clothing items stolen from the laundry room several times, the staff ignored us and told us that it was our own fault. It took several calls to get our locks changed after someone tried to strip our deadbolt.
They have been making "improvements" to the complex since we moved in, I do admit that it is no longer looking like a prison anymore, but I still think that they would be better of just knocking them down and rebuilding.
Overall, I would not ever choose to live here again. I would be more comfortable, safer, and happier living in my tiny car.
Also, this place will do anything that they can to keep all of your deposit and then wait as long as possible to keep it. I finally received my deposit back on the day that I was going to file against them in court. Remember, in AZ, they only have 14 business days to return deposits, otherwise you are entitled to at least double!!
