I lived here for 2 years..originally I was very uneasy about signing a lease here b/c my boyfriend had lived there when it was Villa Madira and really all the Cortesian is is Villa Madira with a paint job and some new appliances. The roaches are the same...the air is worse then before. My experiance started with coming home from work to once a pigeon and once some sort of black bird that had taken residence in my place while i was at work!! All windows and doors were closed but the office did nothing but laugh in my face and swear that there was no way that i had to have left something open. Come to find out that they had come through the fire place! there was bird crap everywhere!! one had gotten caught in the ceiling fan and scuffed up the roof. It was discusting..and really unsanitary..but the ladies...haha at the office again did nothing but laugh at me.
I lived there when that part for the air conditioners went out for 3 weeks and it was over 115 degrees consecutively for 2 of those week.They did offer a hotel room to us only on the night before it was FINALLY fixed. Almost everything in my apartment was ruined...make up,candles, etc..and to make matters worse..half the time the air was out so was the electricity..so you couldnt even use a fan to blow hot air on you and my candles were worthless b/c the heat had melted them all over my tables and expensive rugs in a matter of 8 hours while i was at work.
3 x's it had stormed and water leaked through the roof in to the light fixture bowl in the bathroom...i almost electricuted myself..i had to tape the switch to make sure i didnt turn on the light b/c it took 4 days for them to fix..now i dont necessarily blame this on the 2 maintanence workers they have b/c i know they are worked like crazy..i do blame the office staff for at least having the worst attitudes in the WORLD!! When I called they told me it could be up to 7 days to come fix the leak.THIS IS A HUGE FIRE HAZARD...but they were apparently unconcerned. Then they had the nerve to call me to tell me to move the trash that had been outside my door for only 5 minutes maybe...i told them i would move it when my light was fixed! Well, they leak was not taken care of for days but the trash was gone when I went outside about 15 minutes later.haha. Anyway..that was all bad, but nothing compared to when my butt went through the wall of my shower!! I was leaning up against the wall...and im a pretty small girl and my whole backside went throught the tile...insulations and into who knows what..my feet were severly cut from the tile..i showered for the next week with a huge piece of plastic in the shower..i went out of town for a week and that is when they finally fixed it.
The roaches were horrible..the odor was foul and when i renewed my lease I required that they clean my air ducts b/c i was having severe migraines. The company that came out suggested that i contact the appropriate people to complain about mold but when I contacted the office they refused to give me the name of the correct people to speak with and told me that she wouldnt return my call anyway.
These are just some of the highlights that I can recall while staying at the Cortesian...do yourself a favor...remember the phrase "you get what you pay for" and yes its Scottsdale soooo the $875 for a 1 bed one bath....well I guess you shouldnt look for anything around or under that price range...it was not a fun ride kidds.
