Huge Termite Problem

The complex is lovely and it has been a quiet place to live since we have been here. We have only a had a couple of issues with the place, but they are rather big. At first we were shown an apartment and told that we would be getting the exact same floorplan, fireplace and everything. When we got our keys and began to move into our apartment, we fould the layout completely different and there was no fireplace. We accepted that, we didn't need a fireplace anyway and the extra wall was just more wallspace.
The next problem was the fact that two weeks after we moved in, we found termites, we even found old shafts that had been painted over, untreated. We reported them to the management and were told it would take 10 days to fix the problem. We waited and waited and finally gave an official notice saying that if they didn't fix it that we would break our lease. The same day we delivered the notice, we got a call from a confused member of the management stating that everything had been fixed and we shouldn't worry about it. We had no notice that anyone came into the apartment even though I specifically requested notification.
We accepted the solution and were fine for another month and a half, when we came home and found termites agian! When I called the management and reported this second (unacceptable) outbreak they said they would show up the next morning at 8 and no one showed. This is unacceptable and I would suggest before moving in that you ask about the termites. No one wants to move into a previously occupied apartment.
