I moved in to the Corteian with my fianc a year and a half ago. What we have experienced so far has been on both sides of spectrum. When we first moved in we had great neighbors, and a lot of ---- roaches?. and no it doesn?t matter if your apt. is clean or not. Cockroaches live in the Apartment structure (framing). The Cortesians will however work with you to eliminate the problem; we have only seen a few roaches (5-6) in the last year. If you are unfortunate enough to sign a lease I would encourage you to have the complex spray and vaporize your Apt. before you move in.
Ok, let?s get back to the neighbor ordeal, you might or might not have. Since we moved in, our only sanity has been our neighbor next door to us. Below we have experienced many different types of cultures and people such as the illegal aliens, all 10 of them sharing a two bedroom apt. . After they moved out, two very nice young men moved in and slowly turned the bottom stairs into their own private ghetto. We had to call security on a daily basis for noise complaints, neither of them had a job and there were people coming and going at all times?makes you wonder if they were possibly selling something. And now our pride and joy, students from the culinary school down the street that like pour grease on the walls outside the apartments. They to have a very loud stereo and enjoy playing it so everyone can hear it.
To sum our experience up, it all really depends on who you have as a neighbor?if you are considering moving in because it is a good deal, have one of the girls show you where your apt. will be located.. And go back w/o them. Talk to people living next door and around the complex, see what they have to say.
This post is not intended to offend people of the apartment complex, but to enlighten future residents. In my opinion save yourself the headache spend an extra $100-$150a month and live somewhere that you will not have to worry about your safety or getting a good nights sleep. As soon as our house is finished we?re leaving.
