My husband and I moved into the Cortesians in mid-2004 and still reside here. When we first moved in, things were good. No noisy neighbors, good apartment, no bugs, but the staff was stuck up-they defined SNOBSdale. Then within the last year or so, the complex changed management and things went downhill. They leased apartments to noisy, dirty people who disregarded rules completely. One set of neighbors we had would party all night, park their boat in the parking space to where the motor hung over the sidewalk and ended up cutting my sister's leg! The people above kept their two puppies on their balcony that peed and poo'd and stunk up the place. Then one night, one of the dogs jumped off the balcony and landed on my grill on my patio! When I called about this problem, the office said to call animnal control.
Shortly after all this happened, we went to rearrange our living room and upon moving a display cabinet on one wall, we found our wall and surrounding carpet was molded. Apparently when we had called maintainence some 6 months prior about a leaky shower faucet, the maintainence man stripped a pipe in the wall and it had been leaking ever since. It took them almost a month before they tore out the wall-leaving a 2'x2' hole for over week- and fixed the piping. All this time, we still had a GIANT wet spot in aour carpet, conveniently by all of our electronic equipment.
Then about a month after, they finally replaced the molded carpet. *The capret was nice and new and left distinct lines where it ended and the old carpet in the dining room and hallway began* While they fixed our pipes in the bathroom they thought they would be nice and set us up to get our bath tubs resurfaced. Except the first time they did it, it bubbled in the first 24 hours and we had to reschedule it again. Then in our main bathroom, the guy resurfaced our white tub with a beige lining. So the outside of the tub and surrounding walls are white while the inside fades into a beige color.
As of now, they're getting better. The staff is nicer and more understanding, but there will always be noisy neighbors at all apartment complexes and with these building being older and remodeled, there are bound to be issues with piping and what not. As of right now, only our above neighbors are loud because their 4 year old likes to river dance, there aren't any bugs in my place, my parking is okay, staff is nice, pool stays reasonably clean and the only complaint I have is that the mail doesn't come until 3PM.
