Safe, quiet, and overall decent

Years at this apartment: 2008-01-01 - 2008-01-01
I moved here in August from out of state and chose this complex because the manager in charge of the entire place personally took my call, had a ton of patience with all of my questions, and was more than accomodating with faxing/sending our deposits by mail. We looked at a TON of apartments, and this was by far the most friendly, and "safest" choice.
This area is very safe and quiet. If you want an apartment with younger people & the chance to meet friends, this probably is not the place for you. It seems to be more families and adults, than the recent college grad. age. I love the soccer complex across the street, it is very well lit until 10 or so at night, so you can always take a walk and feel safe... it's a good place to work out.
When we moved in they told us the workout facilities were open 24 hours - this is NOT true. And you have to purchase a temporary key to use it from 10 pm til 6 am... I was a little upset by this. They have had a couple of issues keeping the pool clean and the hot tub always has sand in it. It's really weird.
Our apartment was very spacious, and fairly clean when we moved in. It's DEFINITELY not perfect-- old appliances in kitchens and bathrooms, out dated cabinets, and an oven that takes awhile to heat up... but for the location and price of our rent, it's hard to truly complain.
There is always a lot of parking by my place, the tennis courts are well maintained, and maintenance has always responded within 2 days. Overall, we are only moving because this location is very far North in Scottsdale... it's just too far from jobs, school, and being "in the action"!
