I chose GlenEagles for the floorplan, which is still the reason I live there (I have the mulit-level loft which I love). Like others have said, mine feels more like a townhome than your average apartment. My experiences since then have had their ups and downs, but I guess the fact that I am still a resident should speak volumes. However, it didn't start off very well...on my move-in day, I was horrified to see the condition of my apartment-to-be. The previous tenant obviously had a dog who basically destroyed the place (the floorboards were all chewed up, the patio reeked of urine...and I can only imagine how the carpet looked before it was replaced). Added to this, the walls were repainted so poorly that I demanded they be painted again, along with the other fixes. To their credit, the apartment staff allowed me to live in the fully-furnished Guest Suite until the work was completed. But I had to keep my stuff in a moving truck for several extra days which was quite inconvenient. More importantly, the fact that they expected me to move in under these conditions was VERY disappointing. They either didn't inspect it or didn't care. Not a good start at all! But I'm sure not everyone will go through this...I was just unlucky, I guess. Since then, I have not had too many problems. Granted, I am a pretty easy-going resident and rarely have a reason to contact the office staff. When I do, they are friendly and generally helpful. Like others have said, the parking situation could be much better. And jet noise from Scottsdale Airport is noticeable, though not overwhelming. Actually, as an apartment complex, GlenEagles is nothing exceptional: The A/C does seem somewhat insufficient in the summer. I can hear my neighbors no more or less than at other properties I have rented from. And over the past few weeks, we've had an invasion of small, nest-building birds that make their homes up under the roofs (which looks like we are infested with millions of hornets). I still don't know if the staff can/will do anything about this. The pool area is quite nice, which I enjoy often. And I've never had any problems with any neighbors, break-ins or criminal damage. But the real draws are the floorplan and TPC location (except the week of the FTP Open - talk about a traffic nightmare!). Despite my first impressions, I would still recommend this property.

As far as the birds, it is illegal for them to remove the nests because they are protected by the endangered species act.If they could just get the damn gates closed! Gated Communithy???
