Stay away!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
I moved to the Phoenix area from Detroit. I picked Pillar at Desert View as a place to live because it seemed like an upscale apartment. The rent seemed high but I felt it would be worth it for the safety and security the community would provide; man, was I fooled. One month after I moved in, my convertible top was stabbed on my new SVT Mustang Cobra. Consequently, I had to pay a $1,000 deductible to replace it. After I replaced the top I decided that Pillar wasn't a nice place to live. I then had to rent a 1 car garage from Pillar for $100 extra each month. I sold the car a few months later because it was too expensive to keep(even though I owned it free and clear).
I was kept awake many nights by the noise from neighboring apartments. The walls and floors are thin with little sound proofing. You can complain all you want to the management staff and they won't do anything because they all leave the place after a few months for employment elsewhere.
I just moved out a month ago and I received a $400 bill from them in the mail the other day. They are charging me for an extra months rent and water because I didn't give them a full 60 day vacancy notice(even though I turned in the keys to the apartment a whole month before my original lease expired).
Learn from my grievances with this community and find a safer and cheaper apartment.
