I lived here (Pillar at Scottsdale)for three months and was so disgusted I broke my lease and left (paying 2,800 in penalties to do so). The complex is designed to make things look beautiful on the surface. After you sign you lease, however, you realize that the complex is actually a dump. Beautiful gas grills (on the surface) have all the knobs missing and no gas half the time. The front gate is broken for months at a time. The bathrooms in the gym are in disrepair - but no one sees those until they have already signed the lease. The first month I was there my car was broken into in front of my apartment and my stereo was stolen. The next month, I was sitting on my balcony and actually watched a car drive around with no headlights and park next to my neighbors garage. I then saw a woman come out, break into his car and retrieve his garage door opener, go into his garage, and come out with bags of things. I called the police and they caught her, but this sort of crime seemed to happen weekly to some resident. I knew several residents with simlar problems with crime. Some of my neighbors were very nice, but others were not. Many residents have oversized mufflers on their cars and speed through the lots hourly buzzing everyone's windows with noise. Many others like to blast stereos while they drive through the lot. You only get on parking spot per unit, and because of the design of the aluminum awnings you might get a spot with a pole six inches away from your drivers side door. This can be a real pain cause you either have to park halfway in the spot of crawl out of your car through the passenger side door. Also, when your lease is up, I can guarantee you the complex will charge you 600 bucks for replacement carpets, regardless of the condidtion of the old ones. They also charge far more than the security deposit for cleaning fees and small damage (scuffed baseboards, dusty blinds etc.) I would not live here under any circumstances.
