The management at Pillar at Scottsdale is not helpful. There are not enough maintenance workers, so while the major maintenance gets done, all the little things take weeks to get fixed. I lived here last year, and I have a dog. They have doggy bags and receptacles so you can clean up after your dogs, but they were never maintained. They would run out of bags and the receptacles would full up and overflow with stinky dog doo. I would ask the ofice to have them emptied numerous times and was always met with, "I'll put in a maintenance order". Then I would wait and wait and wait and nothing would ever happen. The same was true for other things. The front gate was broken for at lease 3 months, during which time my car was broken into and my CD player stolen. Also, the access cards to the gym and gate were never working right, and the office ran out of cards. It took me three months of nagging the office before they would give me a card to get into the gym! Also, the buildings are cheaply made with paper-thin walls and floors.

Crime is definitely a big issue here. This complex is a target for criminals, and is technically in Phoenix police jurisdiction so response time for police is a very long time. I know of many instances of theft.

It seems that as rent decreased at this complex the class of resident definitely went down as well. I know of a great deal of drug traffic through various residences.
