Slowly Getting Better - A Ways to Go

We have lived here for quite some time. Through the years, there have been many, many (Did I say many') problems. Recently, the staff and maintenance has been changed and we are seeing much improvement -- issues are usually resolved within 24 hours. The staff is pleasant, professional and fairly efficient; although, it would be nice if they were more readily available when you go into the office. They should probably have some kind of notifier (a bell or buzzer) in the back offices to let them know when someone has come through the doors, or make it a rule that there should always be at least one staff person out front.
It is still difficult to access the manager because the staff runs interference. Sometimes that's okay, as long as the problems are resolved, but sometimes it is not okay because there are things that the staff cannot and do not address properly or at all.
The grounds are maintained well. The office/clubhouse/workout room are immaculate. Of course they have to maintain these because this is the "beautiful cover to their book."
They are better at managing packages that come in than they used to be. The mail center outside is slightly cleaner than it used to be also, but beware, there is a phantom resident who has nothing better to do than monitor the board. If you leave your ads up for more than a couple of days or if they look "too professional" to be a resident's ad, they are outta there, pronto!
The gate has rarely ever worked. This should be a priority, because they taut this feature for security and one of the justifications for the high cost of living here. For the very high price of this rental, the quality of the appliances really should be at least a notch higher. Our dishwasher has never worked properly, even when they have exchanged it for another, and there are more excuses for it than I can list. I had not noticed how badly the washer worked on our clothes until we were visiting a family member and washed our clothes -- they were so much cleaner (especially whites).
Our electrical outlets have not been correctly fixed for the last two years. They sent someone to repair it three times, but each time they "fixed" one spot, another outlet became inoperable.
Recently, there has been several new very noisy tenants. There seems to be more teenagers and young adults here now who have less respect for others. The walls are very thin - toilets flushing, showers running, lovemaking, and lover's spats...
It certainly is not horrible living here, but I can't quite give it a thumbs up, yet. Its getting there, though.

Why are you living in this place with kids? There are plenty family oriented places in the Phoenix metropolitan area that you can pay a mortgage for the same amount.

You should know that at any apartment community, the gates are NEVER a security feature. They are access gates. Think about it, if someone really wants to get in all they have to do is A) hop the fence B) Wait for another car to punch in a code and then follow or C) Simply keep trying different codes until they find one that works

I thank you for sharing your experience, but I just wonder. Why did you live in there for so many years if it had all this issues from the beginning?

I assume you are Pillar at Scottsdale staff...first, it strikes me as interesting that you bypassed anything positive that I have said. Second, before I consider answering your question, answer me whether you are trying to establish (for yourself and/or others) whether I am a liar, stupid, or are you simply curious?
