COMPLAINT ACTIVITY REPORT Case #
Business Bureau of Central/Northern Arizona
Info: PILLAR AT SCOTTSDALE
Consumer's Original Complaint :
On November 9, 2006 I took my $150 transfer fee to Pillar at Desert View because I was transferring there from my current residence at Pillar at Scottsdale. I was then advised from Brandi at Desert View that Pillar at Scottsdale did NOT send over my transfer paperwork. I went directly into the office at Pillar at Scottsdale & spoke with Mario where he himself offered me a 1bdrm at the rate of $872 if I chose to stay with them (being my current residence & they have been since July 2004) he then advised me that my $150 transfer fee would be refunded back to myself or be credited to my account with Pillar at Scottsdale. As of Sunday November 26th I still hadn't heard from anyone or received my refund. So I went directly to the front office at Pillar at Scottsdale to get this matter rectified; where again I was told by another sales agent (male agent) that my money would be refunded or credited to my account because he then himself called Desert View & spoke with Darlene and that I should hear back from someone on Monday, Nov 27th. I heard back from Rebecca at Pillar @Desert View & she advised me I was misinformed & then I got a call from Mario at Pillar@Scottsdale advising me my money would be credited and that he would get back with me the following day which would be Tuesday, November 28th (which he didn't get back with me) to let me know the pro-rated amount for what I needed to pay the front office for my 2bdrm that would be pro-rated 12/1-12/10 (& if my $150 would be applied to this rent due) or if the pro-rate amount for my new 1bedroom for the pro-ration date of 12/8-12/31 would include the $150 applied credit. So I again called on Wednesday, November 29th & spoke with Mario yet again regarding my deposit & the pro-ration for what I owed on 12/1 or on 12/8 & he promised he would get back with me at the end of business day on Wednesday, November 29th because he would then be off for the next few days - & yet again he failed to get in touch with me! Since Mario offered me this 1bedroom it's been nothing but problems, miscommunication on his end, and the run around on both ends for both of the communities. When Mario offered me this 1bedroom he failed to look into if 1) my apartment was already being rented out & 2) if there was a 1bedroom available for me so needless to say I was going to be out of an apartment from 11/30 - 12/8 but once I brought this to the Manager's attention at Pillar at Scottsdale - Katie Malone she was very quick to get this resolved but I am still so upset and just feel taken advantage of because of the lack of communication on Mario's end. I feel that I did everything on my end and it's not my fault that I was misinformed because Mario just wanted to keep me as a resident for either a sale or whatever other motive he had at the time. I will not be paying the $150 and I will be in contact with small claims court as well as the corporate office of Pillar communities and all of the apartment listing online to rate the pillar communities and the staff particularly Mario at Pillar at Scottsdale.
