I have lived at Pillar at Scottsdale now through my 8-month lease. It was ok. I don't have any major complaints that I wouldn't have at other apartment communities... hot water heater too small for unit, can hear neighbors through the walls, cheap bathroom cabinetry and kitchen counters, cheap carpet (good luck keeping it clean and new-looking. Can't WAIT to pay for that later!) The pool since they have redone it is nice, and it's never really overly-crowded anymore. The down-side to that is that since no one is currently living here, the water bill keeps creeping higher and higher... The office staff is friendly for the most part, though nowhere near as professional as other places I've looked into renting (seems like there's a lot of turnover here). The complex is safe, and I've never felt threatened at all. Most of the neighbors are happy and smiley, and it's a good mix of people. Would I rent again' No, I wouldn't, not for the price I've paid. I love the location though, and that's why I lived here. If they had a one-bedroom available, I would stay, but they do not I guess. I would say look around and do some serious comparison-shopping. I was happy enough, but I think there might be better out there for the same or less. Also, the smoke detectors are the ones that were featured on the news as battery-suckers and sometimes faulty. So I'd check them often. Thanks!
