This place is ok. It's not the best apt I've lived in but not the worst either. I think the noise level is pretty bad. I can hear the people below me, above me and to the sides of me. The walls are paper thin. The most annoying thing about this place is the fact that they allow dogs. One of my neighbors (and I can't figure out which apt it is - if I did know I would call the office and complain) insists on locking their dog out on their balcony every morning at 4:30 or 5. The dog is locked out there for over half an hour while the person is in the shower. The dog barks the entire time and it wakes me up every day. Then other dogs from surrounding apts bark back at it and it gets really loud. People are just down right rude. The other bad thing is that this is a smoking complex and pretty much everyone here smokes - just go to the pool one afternoon and you will see. My apartment smells like a bar and I get headaches because the smoke from the people above me comes through the vents and into my place. Parking is ok but they never clean the lots or grounds so when people let their dogs go poop in your parking stall you have to watch out for it for months. I haven't seen any bugs in my place besides spiders, but I still have a month left here. I would freak out if I ever saw a scorpion or cockroach. I would live here if it was like $800 a month for a two bedroom, but I wouldn't pay much more than that again. Get the top floor if you move here and I'm sure it will be quieter. The pool is nice but it is really cool and I wish it was heated more. The place is pretty poorly insulated, it gets really cold at night

I live here and since they switched over management company's it's gone downhill FAST! It's a HUGE trailer PARK! Do NOT move here, this place is the pits. Looking for a place that doesn't smell like dog ---- all the time. The staff are rude and nasty and dont' know a damn thing. Typical of a company that "specializes" in apartment investments. The outside of the apartmemts are disgusting, it's old, run down and it's full of drug dealers. I can name three off the top of my head. Managment is oblivious and they don't care as long as they get their money. No commons area, no place to hang in the entire complex, not like other places that at least have a couch or fireplace to talk. MANY, MANY OTHER places nearby that would be much more worth the money. This place is a -------- - literally.

Thank you for your candid opinion. Equity Residential took over ownership of San Marcos on October 31st.Since that time we have been very proactive in the preservation of the beautiful community and getting to know and enjoy all our active residents. We have made a lot positive changes here starting with the exterior paint job and continuing with the landscape improvements on all our common areas. Our buisness and resident center will be undergoing additional remodeling adding to the new computers, fax,scanner, copiers already added to the center. Our center is always open our residents and as the Mgr I am pleased to see the mojority of residents utilize and enjoy the free coffee,water, movies, cookies that we offer daily. We understand that with new ownership comes big changes and that we will not always be able to please or accommdate everyone on our community to 100% satisfaction. However I am confident that the 95% of the happy residents that have communicated positve feedback to us will all agree Both Equity and the office staff go out of our way to try to do the best we can with in our abilitys. As the Mgr of San Marcos my door is always open to any resident to hear any issues they may have.I strive to provide the most comfortable and enjoyable living experience to all our residents. I am sorry your time here was not enjoyable, we do appreciate your feedback. Thank you. San Marcos.

Here is a thought. your rates suck, I have been looking for a aplace to live and why is it that your non refundalbe deposits rape your renters?? I don't understand.
