This place is like a dark, dingy sex novel. It's like living in the ASU dorms. Beer pong galore, pot smoking everywhere and enough dog crap to fertilize a farm. It was gone was bad to really, horribly bad to I can't wait until my lease is up bad.
There is NO Parking. None, zilch, zero. The dea is, they lowered the price and the standards (so if you have a poor credit rating, or NO creidt rating you can move here) so much so that there are around 4 teens to a one or two bedroom apartment. Each one has their own car. You pay an extra 20 bucks a month for a parking space -- you will be lucky to find one within walking distance to your apartment. If you are a husband and wife (like us) no WAY will you find a spot nearby -- one can park within 3 buildings (it's waht you pay the extra cash for, the luxury to walk a quarter mile to your car) and the other one will have to park at Safeway or in a different neighborhood an dwalk over. It's so bad, people park in front of the dumpsters and along the curbs!
Mold is so bad here they are painting this piece of crap to cover it up. Instead of fixing it according to code,they are painting it. Dont' believe us' Look into why the past owners were so eager to sell this dump -- because it was better to take a low ball offer than to mix the mold problems!
If you are young and healthy and like to party and don't care how far to have to park and do't care if you have mold growing inside your walls, this is the place for you. The location is great, the office people are nice (although I haven't talked to them in months, so who knows now) and it's a steal for a bunch of kids who want to share an apartment because there is no limit on how many people can live in one apartment at the same time.

Thank you for your candid opinion on your experience here at San Marcos. I am sorry your stay here was not enjoyable. As the Mgr of San Marcos and also on behalf of Equity Residential we can honestly report that upon purchase of San Marcos there was no mold issues reported or dicovered. We are very proud to have made the positive changes here at San Marcos such as painting the community.Our community is over 10 years old and the new paint job was completed to help and improve our already beautiful community. The overall and majority of our current residents have been very pleased with all our improvements. As the Mgr of San Marcos, My door is always open to any resident with concerns or issues.I can not always resolve every issue that comes my way, however I am fair and always appreciate feedback.

Bullsh*t. You let ANYONE rent here. As soon as the ASU creeps and there buddies moved in this place went down hill. Now you have GANG members here. We are not stupid, everyone knows what the gang signs are - especially when they are TATTOOED on their face and neck!!!!!!!!!!
You people will have blood on your hands.
