Management at San Marin is terrible. What has been said in previous reviews about towing is true. Let me explain San Marin's game plan for controlling parking at the complex. They take a random night, and immediately after 9:00 PM begin towing cars without a parking pass. In my case, it was a Monday night, a time when I'm sure there are many illegitimate people parking (note the sarcasm). I was picking up family from the airport with their car, that didn't have a pass, and within an hour it was towed. Now, if management asked themselves how many true offenders they would catch with this practice vs. how many tenant guests they are going to tow, they may re-think it. This leads me to believe that management either a) doesn't care, b) is making money with this scheme, or c) is too inept to even think about something like this. I'm not sure what happened to tenants being customers, but this strategy is a great way to ensure 'return customers' (note sarcasm again). A warning, or towing cars that frequently park without a pass, appears to be too much effort for management, especially when rent is comparable to a mortgage payment. The need to control parking in this area of town is understandable, but the means are ludicrous. Having a day job, I am not able to make it down to the office for parking passes, so management's answer to this predicament is that guests cannot park on the property till I can obtain such passes (aka Saturday). This is where $1100/month to tell your guests to park outside of the complex is infuriating. Towing is not the reason I would not recommend this complex, rather it is the immaturity and response of management regarding such issues. You are treated like an offender rather than a customer, and because I've witnessed this behavior on multiple occurrences, I would recommend that apartment seekers NOT LIVE HERE!

I've lived at this complex for over 5 years and have never had a towing problem. They do circulate flyers about the parking every few months and let you know cars without permits will be towed. During the winter months, when this was review was written, the office closes at 5:00 on weeknights, but during the summer season, the office is open until 6:00pm on weeknights.
