I too must give "props" to San Mateo. I lived here for about 18 months before I moved due to job relocation. Even while in a different state, San Mateo stands out as the best community in which I lived. My family often compares the spacious patios with the little ones that a majority of apartments nationwide have.
Management was always very professional and courteous. Like the previous reviewer said, everyone complains when things don't go their way. I couln't help but chuckle at the one who wrote about the scorpions. Hello...this is the desert after all.
I lived in a second floor apartment...great space, wonderful closets and a great balcony. If there was a down-side, it was that my covered parking was clear across the other side of the complex. My unit was on the front...I had to walk to the back to my covered spot. Needless to say, I seldom used it.
Yes, the bleach in the hot-tub was a bit overpowering. But I never encountered a dirty pool. All in all, I would recommend San Mateo without hesitation. It ain't perfect...but do me a favor...when you find the PERFECT PLACE...let me know!

We lived there for 9 months before we bought our house. We loved it. It was quiet, no leaks, no scorpions, office people were professional.
