I stayed there over a year ago and had one of their casita plans which was very nice because no neighbors above or below. They use a weird formula to determine what your rent will be and when my renewal came up, they were going to raise my rent by over 30% from the previous year! There was such tight language in the lease that I had to move out within the 30 days of them giving me the new price and opportunity to renew or I would pay an huge penalty if I needed to extend my lease an extra week even.

I spoke with my next door neighbor and she was paying substantially less than me and had just renewed her lease which was very upsetting. Working out of home, one day, the landscaping crew accidentally mowed over a rock that flew into the window of my car, shattering it. I filed a police report as well as a claim with the management office and they drug it out and never paid me for fixing my car!

Also, upon moving out, I had the place cleaned and in my opinion, it was in better condition than when I moved in (the oven was trashed on the inside when I moved in, I cleaned it out thoroughly). Big mistake on my part, I was not present for final walk through and turned my keys in. NEVER DO THIS!!! They had my forwarding address, I never received any invoice from them and the next thing I knew, they had turned me into collections for $150. I still haven't paid it out of the sheer principal of the matter.

It's a nice location and considering the age of the community, it's fairly well kept however I definitely had a negative experience and would not recommend to anyone else.

Your experiences are certainly not an isolated case...Ever since Camden assumed management of the property, the quality of tenants, maintenance, leasing staff, and pricing equity have suffered tremendously. I lived at the San Paloma when it was managed by Mark Taylor (an awesome company...and HAPPY tenants), and subsequently Metric...who also managed the property with utmost professionalism. We had phenominal customer service, rents were stable, maintenance actually happened, and there was pride in living there. Then, in comes Texas based Camden with their group of dysfunctional mis-managers, and the property started the rapid downhill slide. The unsightly paint job on the buildings...butchered landscaping, lack of on-sight security, "boutique trash" pick-up, incompetent office workers, and "price-of-the-day" rent structuring. Most of the Corporate and Medical professional tenants moved out back in 2007, and the "profile" of the tenant base plummeted. Camden is known in the AZ apartment community as the SLUM LORDS.
