Outside Lures You in but Watch Out!

First let me premace this by saying I am a really tolerant person and not much bothers me. These apartments are fairly well maintained and look nice from the outside but the staff is what turns a pleasant place into in my opinion why people are leaving.
When you are trying to lease an apartment at Camden San Paloma the leasing agents will be very nice and pleasant. Once you sign the lease however; it is a whole nother story. You will walk into the office and the two women won't even come out to greet you. In fact when you first walk in not a "I will be with you in a minute" or "how can I help you." No acknowledgement at all! They are extremely rude and for this matter I have avoided or try never to go into the office.
Secondly, the apartments themselves are very dated. There are other apts. in the area that offer less rent and have new fixtures. The dishwasher never fully cleans, the air conditioning doesn't keep the whole apartment cool and the washer and dryer take up so much energy...you might as well not use them. The apartments themselves are fairly spacious but living room is strangely configured and don't try to fit a full size table in the dining room...not happening.
When we first moved in here we thought the place was fairly quiet. We found out later that the closer you are to the pool the louder it gets. Lately we have seen all kinds of abnoxious younger kids living here that do not have respect for the time of day or people or surroundings.
I hate to compare it to the ghetto but it comes pretty darn close. Move here if you like disrespectful staff, ignorent neighbors and amneties that are a joke.

I've lived here exactly a year now, and recently renewed for another year. I have my qualms, but I think calling it the "ghetto" is going a tad far. Prior to coming to Camden, I lived near Metrocenter for a year--now THAT'S ghetto. Sorry, but Camden is nowhere near "ghetto" status. I'll agree with a few things you mentioned though:
However, overall, when I do finally leave, Camden will receive a positive review from me. Probably 3/5. It's been a generally positive experience. You're correct though... there are newer, nicer complexes nearby... so they should be cognizant of the competition and improve accordingly. |
