I have lived in San Tropez for almost one month and DO NOT recommend it. They do just enough to give the impression the places are nice and to get you to move in, but it is disgusting and frustrating.
CLEANLINESS: When we got our keys we thought the place looked clean, but after moving in and unpacking we started realizing that it had really only been given a surface cleaning; the baseboards in the bathrooms are DISGUSTING, the shower floors were dirty, the insides of the drawers were SICK, the kitchen floors and cabinets were filthy, the appliances were dirty, and we are STILL fighting with the front office about it. They definitely cleaned the carpet and wiped off the counter, but for any decently clean person it is absolutely disgusting.
ROACHES!!!!! There are ROACHES coming in from the bathroom drains and under the linoleum--and when i called to complain the girl in the office said, "Are you sure' I doubt they are roaches, we don't really have a problem with them here." Well dear, you DO, and I guarantee they just don't want people finding out about it. They have sent the exterminator TWICE, still not helping. Our newest battle is getting them to send someone out here to re-seal the flooring to try and keep the little buggers out.
PARKING: We came to see this apartment during the afternoon and there SEEMED to be ample parking, but we discovered after moving in that there are not nearly enough spaces for everyone, the extra spots are full around 6 pm and always on the weekends so one of us always ends up parking near the front of the complex.
NOISE: We figured this place wouldn't be the quietest considering it is in Old Town, but the level of noise is ridiculous. I can deal with partying on the weekends, but even Monday nights seem to be big party nights. The soundproofing of the actual units is also terrible--I can hear when the person above me even OPENS a DRAWER. I am not exaggerating.
COST: At $1080 for a large 2 bed we thought we were getting a pretty good deal, and the deposit is small so we opted for the apartment over a condo (bad idea). But on the DAY we went to move in--(movers outside ready to unload) i was informed that we also have to pay a separate water/sewer/trash fee, that an additional tax is applied, and that we cannot get Direct TV (which is about $40 less than Cox) so we really arent saving ANY money at all. The air circulation is poor in the bedrooms and especially the bathrooms, thank goodness they do provide ceiling fans, but it is still about a 8 degree temperature difference from the living room (yes--I checked).
Overall, I would never live here again and we are moving out the minute we can afford to. For the price we pay in total, you could absolutely get on craigslist and find a condo that is at least cleaner and bug-free, and has upgraded flooring-the typical apartment carpet is crap.

I have lived here for 3 years and found the same problems but the office always seems to make excuses for all the problems. The reason I stay is because it is so close to work and other properties I have searched in this area are worse. I have had the problems with roaches and I havent seen one since they came and sprayed my apartment (knock on wood). I agree the parking is a horrible situation that usually results in many people parking in the fire lanes and the office refuses to get involved in towing them. I also live next to some young guys who seem to come in at 230am every morning drunk and making all kinds of noise. I think the main problem here is poor office staff who dont care about the tenants!

I am shocked to hear these reveiws! I lived there for 2 years, and I never saw a bug except for a moth or two, rarely heard my neighbors, and the office staff was always helpful. I do agree that parking is a pain, and that it is overpriced, but no other complaints.

Hmmm, I guess I live on the wrong side of the complex, I wonder if they will move me!!!! We are on the first floor, which I have recently heard is worse for bugs so that could be it. Still doesn't explain the rest of it though....
I agree with the anonymous poster, if the office did more to help instead of stringing me along I would definitely not be so angry!
