It is now Broadstone Scottsdale Horizon, instead of foothills. For the past couple of months, leaf blowers have been coming out at 7am up to 10am and sometimes NOON every morning and because everything is being redone and renovated, construction is happening at about the same time. Unless you have to get up before 7am, I would not move here! Forget about sleeping in on your days off! Sometimes I'm so furious I want to throw things from my balcony at these people. Every single day the leaf blowers are out, I've looked and sometimes they aren't blowing anything at all! Just walking around getting paid to look like they're working and making sure to wake up everyone in the area! This is worse than a noisey neighbor, this is management ruining your sleep. They might as well do it at 3am, I'd have more time to sleep after it's done instead of have to get up for the day!
Also, your lease agreement that you sign stands for diddly squat because they will audit you and ask for all your information again so they can take away any discounts they signed you up with and tack on what they forgot to ask from you when you signed the lease. I'm looking into legal options with that because i thought a lease agreement was a contract....The staff all seems to have different stories on the size of dogs you can keep and I was told the shortest lease I could get was 7 months! It's 3!!! I signed a seven month lease because I was told wrong. You can even do month to month. If i could do it again, I would just go a few miles further and find an apartment that is better for half the rent. Here it's well over $1000 dollars for an aparment stuck in the 80's that's falling apart in areas not listed in the checklist they first give you (which I'm sure I'll be stuck fixing or paying for) and doesn't offer any peace in the mornings. Don't even think of buying on the second floor, the ceiling is huge which makes heat rise, and there are sky lights...electric is easily $400 a month even when using extreme precaution. This place was a mistake

I remember when this place was still called the foothills and everything was old an outadated when I was looking for an apartment in the area 7 years ago. I moved to another place called Scottsdale Desert Shadows which is now called The Allison. That place too was old but it had more space.
When the Scottsdale Desert Shadows residents were forced to move because they were being converted to condos I looked at Scottsdale Foothills again and the remodel inside was nice. It used to be that they had the washer/dryer outside in the storage room but now it's actually inside the apartment. As nice as it is, it still is way overpriced especially for a 1 bedroom. The Allison is the same way. They're now renting the 1 bedroom I used to live in for $1000 a month. Not a great deal considering all the problems and mold issues we had when it was Scottsdale Desert Shadows.
I loved living in Scottsdale but it is way too overpriced. I ended up moving to Northeast Phoenix where it's a little cheaper and in a decent area which is being redeveloped.
