I'm a resident...my list of pros and cons...

I've lived here a little over two years now. I've read these little "review wars" and my review has nothing to do with those. This is just straight up what I think...
Overall, I like living here...I won't retire or raise my kids here, but it's an apartment...it is what it is.
These are my biggest cons with Scottsdale Meadows-
- The landscaping crew (who is hired outside help) starts blasting up their leaf blowers at seven-thirty in the morning, every Monday morning. They may start at my end of the apartments, but I still think that's wayyy too early for that noise. I work nights mostly and can always count on being rudely awakened early Monday mornings.
- I HAVE seen cockroaches...in fact I'd say that there IS a problem. I keep a VERY clean apartment, but I still manage to find 2-3 large cockroaches a month, and misc. little ones here and there as well. In fact there was one laying dead on the carpet when they showed me the place. They say they spray, but I still get them. Then again, it may just be my building.
- They advertise rent for a two-bed for $845, but I'm paying about $890. Not sure why, but we don't have any extra stuff on our lease...and of course they won't lower it. But whatever, what can you do, right'
- You get one covered parking spot, but that's it. So if you room with someone, one of you will be uncovered. And since there seem to be a lot of college-aged kids here, the parking can be ridiculous some nights. Often you will have to park on the street...but it is a small complex, so it's not far to walk.
But on the plus side....
- The staff is usually quite attentive to your needs. Sometimes they get busy, and one should understand that. But I've never been up the creek...they are good. After being here a while, the staff is like friends, and are usually good to take individual needs into concern (say having to pay rent a little late because you had to spend rent money on repairing your car).
- This place is walking distance from everything you should need...and a short drive to everything else. It's close to the freeways, and that's major.
So overall, I would absolutely recommend this complex to mostly anyone. Might wanna pick up some Raid and some roach motels when you move in. And get some earplugs if you work night shifts on Mondays!

Can u tell me if you have ever seen a scorpion? Roaches are gross, but I'd rather deal with them than scorpions. Thanks for your help.

No...I've never seen a scorpion, or a tarantula either. Outside OR inside. Trust me, if I see a scorpion in my apartment, I'll be long gone...
Like I said too, just snoop around when you check out your place before you move in. If you see a dead roach, ask for another apartment. I honestly believe that some buildings have more unwelcome inhabitants than others.
