Low Quality Living

I have lived in many apartment complexes and I have never gone through so much trouble of an experience as I have with Scottsdale Greens apartments. I strongly caution that you be careful when renting here.
I can only speak from my own experience and despite my extreme anger toward the people who run this complex, I want to keep my comments objective.
From the front, the property looks pretty nice. They have a fountain in the front, well kept grass and so forth, fresh paint on the exterior.
When you ask to see an apartment, the staff member will walk you straight back past the pool to a floor model that they have strategically preparded, renovated, and decorated. Your first impression is that the units are very nice. They will also bait you with the "tv in the kitchen" leading you to believe that they keep their units up to date and well maintained.
As we found out from Cox cable upon attempting to establish service, Scottsdale Greens hired a third party to install the televisions in the kitchens and the work was not done professionally. Cheap splitters were installed in the wall to split the main line so that one line goes to your living room outlet and the other runs above the ceiling into the kitchen. When you move in, you will notice the holes in the ceiling where they were unprofessionally patched.
The cable technician said that the signal received in the apartment is very poor as a result of what they had done and even stated to me that he personally would not recommend Cox Cable for these apartments. We kept the service however on a fairly regular basis you could see the picture on the television become pixilated. I can only assume it was caused by their work because I had the same service and same television at my previous apartment and never noticed this before.
The maintenance people will not respond to your maintenance needs in a timely manner and when they do respond, the work that they do always looks hacked together and less than professional. I have had so manner problems here and I cannot wait to move out.
You may also notice a fair number of cars being towed out of this complex. I have personally seen 3-4 cars towed from near my apartment. During a conversation I had with a Scottsdale police officer, I was told that Scottsdale Greens is a known spot where car thieves like to get rid of their stolen vehicles. When you move into the complex, the staff will ask you to supply them with a gate code so that you can come and go from the property. In my circumstance, the gate has never opened for me when I type the code in. However, after living there for a few days, you will notice that the gates do not take codes. The gates will open for anybody and everybody who pulls up to them at any hour day or night.
There is a constant stream of cars coming and going from this property all the time leading me to believe that there are not very many working professionals living at this complex. A lot of cars drive past my apartment playing loud music. If you drive around through the complex and look at the cars parked there, you will see that the socio economic class of people that this complex deals with is not very attractive.
The buildings are old and maintenance over the years has been terrible. They have thrown new paint over everything and put in new carpet, but that is it. I did not begin to notice all of the problems until after a month in my lease. Whenever my neighbor above me walks - my entire apartment creaks. When he stays up late sometimes and walks back and forth between his room and the living room the noise keeps me up. I know it is not his fault, but its just reflective of how neglected this property has been over the years.
All in all, this has been an absolutely horrible experience. I hope that this review will help someone from getting stuck in the same situation I now find myself in.
I have so much more to say, but in the interest of your time I will conclude it here.
Good luck.
