Hello. After having lived in quite a few apartment communities, I can honestly say this is the worst experience I have ever had!
My apartment has 4 cable outlets, only one has worked since we moved in nearly a year ago --the community will not replace, and I will not pay a contractor to work on someone else's property (though they did offer reimbursement, delayed of course).
When I moved in, I was told that the landscaping was to be improved (many dead shrubs, barren open areas, trees trimmed to shapeless lumps of bark), and this has never been followed up on. The west part of the community certainly lacks the "Greenbelt" appeal. Although the area directly around the leasing office is in prime condition, coincidentally. They also just spent a ton on renovating the office --I wish they would repair the rest of the community!
The lock on the fitness center (which has an unlocked door to the hot tub) was broke for months here until my friend had complained six times and threatened to call the Scottsdale Fire Department about the risk for drowning for small children.
Oh, did I mention the office staff' They are unapproachable, condescending, and have yet to follow through on anything they have told me. Work orders piling up for weeks without even a call from maintenance. Some which present liability issues for safety (like broken mirrored glass doors). The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. There is no integrity or follow through on residents once you sign the lease ....so, please think it over HEAVILY before you do....
The parking is the worst I have ever seen; I have had park up to up to two blocks from my apartment due to lack of space, and vendors often take up the closest resident parking, and they are often up and working at 6-7am, making the noise level less than appropriate. Storage units are kept in the back parking lot which is where alot of people have to park, which is not fair to paying residents.
The community is NOT gated eventhough there are gates. We were promised they would be working soon after move in nearly a year ago, and the gates have yet to work. They have had vendors out to look at them, but nothing has changed. Occasionally they are shut at night but will open automatically if you pull up, most nights they are left wide open.
Oh, and if you look at the pictures, there was indeed about 10 police cars, K-9 dogs, and other authority personnel here in March. It was quite scary that it was hapapening right in your own backyard.
Please, if you value your apartment experience, look elsewhere.
I will not be renewing my lease.

I still remember when we moved in, they actually had us supply them with a gate code. We soon realized that the gate doesn't take codes. That was just plain weird.
Our apartment had quite a few problems regarding health/saftey - the most serious of which was mold under the carpet from when the washing machine overflowed and a leak in the shower ceiling from the upstairs apartment.
We served the front office in writing with a form that gave them 5 days to fix the problem or the lease would be terminated. When they failed to make repairs, we served them with another form that said that the lease was terminated due to their failure to maintain the premises and promptly moved out of the apartment.
This began a couple months worth of exchanges between us and their lawyer Mr. Hull (www.doctorevictor.com) who made all sorts of hilariously wild statements to try to intimidate us.
When Scottsdale Greens did not return our security deposit and sent a collections notice threat for the remaining rent due on the lease, we filed a lawsuit in small claims. Their lawyer immediately had the venue changed from small claims to the next higher court (where lawyers are allowed to be present). He also filed a motion to sue us for his legal fees.
Fortunately, we kept pictures and videos of all of the problems in the apartment before/after the 5 day demand for repairs.
We had our proof sent over to Dr. Evictor and Scottsdale Greens promptly capitulated in exchange for us allowing them to keep the security deposit.
It was a very annoying, but way better than staying in that dump for another 8 months.
We call that place "The Sleaze" or "Scottsdale Sleaze" whenever we drive by. We drove in their awhile back (knowing that the gates would open for anyone whether they lived there or not) and saw that they had someone new in our old apartment.
Sucks for those people.
