Living in an apartment is much like life in the military. You have people living on all sides of you whom you may not get along with, a drill sergant who seems stern at times, and occassionally the usual chaotic event; however, I couldn't imagine a better place to call home then Scottsdale Desert Shadows.
The community itself is quite charming. Lots of trees and grass, looks more like life on the East coast then in the Desert. There are so many things to do such as jogging, swimming, or just hanging out to watch some tv in the clubhouse and socialize with the staff. The staff is truely what made SDS a wonderful place to call home.
Everyone feels like family. With every good family, there is a strong take charge and tend to the children figure. Carole Cutlip is an amazing women that I have had the pleasure of knowing for a long time now. She doesn't just have this job, she IS this job. Her level of dedication to the residents and the owner is unparalleled. Her every effort is to make things run as smoothly as possible and resolve any issues which may arise on a moments notice. She genuinely cares about her residents, her staff, and her community in general.
Speaking of staff, Carole has an outstanding Assistant Manager with Christine. Christine is always more then happy to help resolve any issues, explain things that may seem complicated for some of us, or simply just to smile and listen over casual conversation about how your day is going. Her level of enthusiasm and determination is taking this young lady to new heights and she deserves to reap the rewards :)
Now, the last factor is maintenance. These 3 gentlemen, Rick, Jim, and Damon each bring complimenting skills to the table. They are more then happy to resolve issues large or small and do so in a more then timely and efficient manner. They are the reason the community looks and feels good.
So, my hats off to the staff at Scottsdale Desert Shadows. You have the classiest act in Scottsdale !!!

Carol, who did you hire to write this review? Our guess it was a 6th grade remedial english student. Next time have them use the spelling and grammar check. Or perhaps it was your computer literate alter personality that wrote this pathetic lie about SDS. I know for sure it wasn't submitted by the Scottsdale Police Department because they are too busy responding to various criminal complaints, allegedly. This place is a joke and I am ashamed to live here. I know a few of the officers by name now because they are called here quite often to respond to complaints about my criminal neighbors. There is so much mold we could build another apartment complex out of it. The management is anything but management. Carol can't even manage herself let alone this complex. Hell she can't even write her own review. My advice: Get renter's insurance. |

The above written review "The best of life" looks like paid review, or written by someone linked to management. Or they gave someone 15 to 30 days free rent for writing this. Or this may be result of someone in SDS mgmt excessively socializing with one who wrote the review. 90% of whatever it says is other way around, and is not true. The Apt are very old and cooling bill in summer runs into 170 to 200 per month. It is highly inefficient when it comes to energy. you have to keep in mind that these apts are about 100 -1100 SFT only. the windows and blinds are always stuck. windows leak cooling or heat whatever case may be. very often plumbing leaks. the repairs are half done and you have to place multiple calls to fix same problem. Enough of pet droppings and cigarette butts. the dishwasher I never use, I repeatedly found the residue from sink disposal unit to leak into dishwasher. The maint person Jim told me these are CHEAP apartments and what do you expect out of it. It was not changed. they never fix anything right. Or they fix only the things which do not cost much. The Apt complex have so many unsupervised children running around. their parents are never seen around, while the kids play unattended. I am surprised how apt mgt tolerate this. they have tried to sell these as condos for last 2 years, but have been unsuccessful, this has happened in the strongest houng market, and the good location it enjoys. I am happy that I moved out. this place is getting worse |
