I don't agree with this last poster who must be a friend of management or the management themselves. We just found out our rent was also going up by $100 as one previous poster mentioned. The manager is pretty bad and informed someone I know in the complex that their rent is also going up. They do so by putting a letter on your door. We've been here for a few years and yet that accounts for nothing with them. I agree with the one poster who said call the management company but they hardly ever call you back. We called once when we had a complaint about parking. They did nothing but ignore us.
They seem to be forcing a lot of people out by raising the rent. The condo conversion pretty much failed and they don't give you much incentive to keep living here. You would think it would be smarter to keep a resident happy and get them to stay here instead of jacking up the rent and spending even more money to prepare an apartment for a new renter.
The current manager cares very little about the residents and seems to do more to make them upset. The parking solution she had months ago never solved the problem of others parking in other people's spots. When a resident has a concern she is unresponsive as her staff.
For those considering renting here, know what you are in for. Unresponsive, unprofessional and uncaring management, lousy maintenance which don't fix anything, and now high rent. I think people who are planning to rent here should really read the negative reviews as they are the ones that are the most accurate. We currently reside here now and because of this new rental situation are now having to look for another place to live.
The area is good to live in but the management at Desert Shadows is very hard to swallow. When Carol was running things she actually tried to do what she could to keep residents here and at the very least was willing to talk to you if there were issues. The current manager nor her staff does this. I suggest anyone considering renting here to pass on this place.
