I lived at the Highlands for one year. I hated it. Crickets and huge ---- roaches everywhere!! Management was aweful. Maintenance had knocked on my door and walked in on two occasions (that I know of) with fake orders! Yes, fake. I would have known if I put in a work order. I happened to be home because my tire popped in the front of the property (and I lived in the back). The other time, I was sick, and my car was not in my normal spot. Both times, they just walked in (and apparently he was the maintenance supervisor!). Another time, I had prescription pain medication (prescribed after a surgery) emptied from the bottle in my medicine cabinet as well as $20 missing from my night stand on the same day maintenance came in to fix the garbage disposal. Why were they even in my room'!'! Management did nothing. Scheduled a walk-through when I moved out that they failed to keep. Then when I was gone, they had maintenance do the walk through. When I moved out, they tried to charge me $200 for a pet stain on my carpet... I am allergic to cats and dogs -- what pet stain' Fortunately, there was a new employee in the leasing office who didn't know of my complaints and she re-walked the apartment with me, and verified there were no stains. She even made a comment on how spotless it was! Parking sucks, unless you live on the back side of 100th street. The covered parking was no where near my apartment. Trash dumpsters often backed up. The one heated pool was too hot in the summer. No bathrooms at the pools either! The one nice thing was they had a gallon water vending machine.
