This place won Best Apartment Community in the USA a few years ago, which kinda seems like either a flat-out lie or a not-so-special award. Don't get me wrong, I really liked it there for the 6-month duration I stayed, but what's up with the paper-thin walls' People who post here are not kidding about being able to hear EVERYTHING in the adjoining apartment. The fella who lived below me (I was on the 2nd floor of a 2-story unit) had about a dozen really emotional shouting matches with his wife/girlfriend/mistress, mostly in the late evening. I don't really understand why apartments are built on million-dollar lots, with million-dollar budgets, for high-priced renters and they STILL won't sound-proof the gawd damned partition walls! How much more could that cost'
Anyway, the staff here was quite friendly and was always available when I needed them to be. The grounds were always manicured and the parking lot was never jammed. I really enjoyed the bathrooms, which sounds silly but when you live in another building whose fixtures are low-flow, plastic junk you'll appreciate the Legend's generous bathrooms. The showerheads will knock you over from their high-flow spray. Nice :). Toilets were equally nice. Their flush would shake the floor, which is another reason to live on the top floor. Sinks were sweet too, being solid fake-marble instead of Formica with a porcelin insert which is impossible to keep clean. No complaints at all in the stinkhouses here.
Kitchen was decent, nothing spectacular but nothing worth crying over. I did rip my toenail off on the bottom of the fridge door one night (it was my fault though, don't ask...), but thanks to a kindhearted Good-Samaritan fellow resident I got the problem resolved. Thanks Casey! I still owe you one.
Really the only thing wrong with the apartment was a ceiling fan in the bedroom that had a peculiar "clicking" sound when in operation. A few jabs to the bottom of the motor unit usually solved this, but the noise would always return. Eh, I'm nitpicking. I shoulda just bought a box fan and been done with it. Nice carpets, tight windows, nice HVAC unit.
Overall, this place is really nice. If you're one of those people who demand your home to be silent as a crypt, well, BUY A HOUSE. Apartments aren't quiet, and never have been. If you're a single guy looking to live in a community with VERY attractive young women, Ferraris next door and plenty of sunshine, give this place a call.
