Equity is the management comapny for this complex. Their headquarters are in Texas. I mention this because management at Via Ventura will screw you as best they can when you move out. Three months after I left, I received a mysterious bill for over $200 for "clean up" on my vacated apartment. I was not told why; in fact, the letter stated that all of my correspondence had to now go through the corporate office. So i tried to work it out with them, but to no avail. I was never given a reason for the bill. So, naturally, I refused to pay it. Then, suddenly, I stopped hearing from them and figured they'd resolved the matter in-house. Nuh-uh. A year later, collection agencies came after me. It's now on my credit report.

But that's just the good stuff.

The managment staff was incompetent, to say the least. The apartments, with there location and proximity to 101, are a haven for drug dealers. One morning, I awoke to gun shots. Turned out, one of my neighbors was "having fun" firing his pistol from the dining room, out into his patio, into some phone books. I protested to management about this, but they said, after speaking with the tenant, that they had no proof of wrong doing.So, nothing was done.

The noise is bad, too. Thin walls. And since this is Scottsdale were talking about, many of the tenats have the latest booming sound systems, including Dolby Digital surround sound DVD systems; I always knew what movies my neighbors were watching. And then there's the basketball courts. Nitwits like to go out there and play as late as two a.m. The sound of a basketball bouncing on cement at that hour is so peaceful!

There are dog and cat droppings all over the place. Cats roam free. You will see tenants walk their dogs onto lawns, let the dogs do their business, and just leave it there. This is a problem, because many of the apartments' windows and patios are along grassy areas.

If you are wanting to move in to the Scottsdale area, avoid this place.
