Being my first apartment, I had high expectations. However, living on my own has made me realize I can't get everything I want. MV is pricey, but as mentioned before it's in a decent neighborhood and I'm willing to pay for living in a safe place. I don't understand the reasoning behind having a rental property tax, but apparently that's an AZ thing. On high traffic nights (Thursday - Saturday) you can hear the highway traffic, but the current police presence does help. My definite gripe with this place would have to be the fact that they keep planting and uprooting flowers. It doesn't make sense to me, but whatever. I have had to make complaints against neighbors for noise levels of their tv, voices, etc, because the walls are made out of paper, but there is always immediate action on part of the management. The air/heating is fairly noisy, but it cools/heats the apartment nicely, but it's just too noisy to have on at night. I highly suggest buying a floor/table fan, particulary for the bedroom if you're hotblooded like I am. I see this apartment as a stopping point for bigger and better things, so for now it's pretty decent. It is pretty weird how the management keeps changing (I've lived here since '06, and they've changed three times), so one can't help but wonder why the constant changes. Turns out, they are managed by a company in Tucson, who- in my opinion- has NO clue of cost of living, salaries, needs, etc., are in SV compared to Tucson. I do suggest living here, just with the footnote to not have really high expectations. After all, this is Sierra Vista.

I just finished 'my thoughts' and it got lost in cyber space...so I'll try again! Mountain Vista looks very appealing from the outside (for the most part, except for the landscaping...all of those beautiful flower pots sitting empty or sparsely used). I'd be happy to manage these myself! But you can't always tell a book by its cover! So here are some of my concerns and and kudos: My primary concern is that there aren't really as many 'handicapped parking' spaces as there seem to be. We need wider parking spaces AND a level place for wheel chairs to reach the sidewalks...do you know how difficult it is to wheel or walk over all of those stones??? Laying down a concrete ramp for each building would certainly be helpful for someone who already has a challange! Why not present this as an amenity? Another amenity would be one assigned parking place per apartment. I've been told that this idea has met with little support - just number each space and assign it to the lessee. Use numbers like Apt. 1, 2 ,3, 4 etc. Then a would-be intruder wouldn't know if a resident was home or not. Thin walls - I can hear everything all around me, especially upstairs...every step, every shower, etc...not much you can do about that now though. Ah, the beautiful pool - where are the night lights AND with the pool shut down so much, I think renters show get some type of discount! I count on it as my place to exercize...so much for that!
Kudos for 24/7 laundry mat, social gatherings and donuts & coffee on Fridays! The lawns look great, and I have always had a quick response to maintenance calls. My daughter chose this apartment complex to be close to her and close to shopping. Mountain Vista fits the bill there! I hope to see some changes, while I'd like to see the staff treated as if they were indisposeable (to include fair salary). I'll keep my fingers crossed in hoping these comments will be taken seriously and we will see some changes soon. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to vent! Have a great day!
