Obscenely Terrible Management

Too bad I can't give them a ZERO rating or a NEGATIVE rating overall.

FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH & SAFETY, PLEASE DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT RENTING HERE!!!

Don't be fooled, although the grounds look decent and the management staff ACTS nice, after they get you to sign - well ... read on.

Management made several verbal promises to us, but went back on many of them. (They call it a "miscommunication.") It got so bad that I wouldn't accept a verbal promise - I demanded it in writing - and they sometimes refused. Even then, I've had issues with them not doing what they wrote they would do. If you're thinking about moving into Mountain Vista Apartments - DON'T - for your own sanity. If you're forced to rent there for some odd reason, get all promises in writing before signing a contract. Get everything fixed before signing a contract - else be prepared to wait for weeks to get things addressed - if they ever get fixed.

I've lived in apartment off and on for years - this is by far the worst (and loudest.) College dorm life was quieter!

Speaking of loud - the AC reminds me of a jet engine - and it's ANTI-efficient too - my small 1 bedroom costs me as much as my house which is 4x the square feet.

Watch where you walk - there's a lot of dog feces around and I've never seen it cleaned up. Yea, it's sad that the dog owners don't clean it up, but when it sits in the same spot for weeks/months, the property owners should take care of it.

Be aware that MANY of their apartments have massive cigarette smoke issues - if you're a non-smoker - for your own safety, go somewhere else. They REFUSED to desmoke the apartments to remove cigarette smoke. (My wife called the apartment I was stuck with the "Gas Chamber.") Also, if one of your neighbors smokes, it's highly likely you'll smell it through the vents or through the holes in the wall used for plumbing/electric. When I escalated to MEB Management (the management company,) I was told that they "don't rent non-smoking apartments." After two months of complaining, the district manager did come down and confirm that it was an issue and said that they'd move me.

A month later, it still hadn't happened and I just couldn't wait any more. I gave them a deadline to resolve the situation, but they didn't. (No shock there.) I wrote a letter telling them they were in breach of the contract, failing to provide a safe / healthy living environment. They "offered" to release me from my lease. I found another place and moved over the weekend. When I checked out, they wanted me to sign a paper that was a lie, but I refused. What's really sad is that when my wife nicely thanked them for "allowing [me] out of the lease," they retorted that it was "easier that way!" I knew they didn't care, but I didn't expect them to be so brazen about their anti-customer attitude! P0MtU6TIdDkM23RTonAS

I would have to say that noise is my main complaint - that along with parking and inadequate handicap spaces with easy access - not stones...I have lived here a year and for the most part have enjoyed it except for the above mentioned. I don't know what is going on as far as management is concerned. I must say that the assistant manager has held firm - the only link to continuity! There are lots of opportunities for socializing among the retired, but extras for the younger set are minimal. Let's see if we can get this property up to snuff!

I have no idea why this person is so angry, but their review is totally inappropriate. I have stayed at this apartment property several times over the years, and have found it to be a pleasant and quality environment. The staff care and try hard, and I think it??????s the nicest property in town.

Inappropriate for whom? This was his experience. Luckily, you have had a different outcome- however, this does not make his issue any less valid. PS- if you have issue such as this ,do yourself a favor & get a personal recorder. They work miracles.
