Learning to hate this place

I first thought this was a luxury apt. complex. It is lovely with the landscaping, tall trees and pool. But the apartments leave something to be desired and maintenence leaves a lot to be desired. It wasn't very clean when I moved in-carpets weren't cleaned and walls not painted. My biggest problem is getting someone to fix my kitchen faucet which started dripping a day after I moved in (jan'08). Management has been notified 5 times and nothing has been done. I am horrified at the waste of water and managment apparently doesn't care that THEY pay the higher water bill. I even tried turning the water off under the sink when I'm not using the kitchen. It still drips!
I do like having the pool and the workout room available. The workout room is not very good but it's something if you want to use machines (whose computers don't work) but don't want to pay for a gym membership. At least I can have my pet (for and extra $15/mo plus a healthy non-refundable pet deposit). I only signed a 6 mo lease and while I hate moving I'm going to start looking at other places.

Hey, if you're looking for another apt. - skip Las Brisas. I hear the complex right next door to Oasis (Mountain Vista?) is pretty good (but I heard horror stories about Mountain Steppes). I used to live at Oasis too. Whole time I was there they didn't fix my ceiling. 3 leaks. I broke my lease and they paid me my full deposit back because of their negligence.

In response to the leaking faucet. We were unable to fix this problem as the tenants dog will not allow our maintenance techs to enter. We posted a notice on tenants door to contact the office to set up a specific time and date when tenant will be home and have not yet heard from them. In most cases our maintenance request are completed within 24 hours,

That is so not true. They never fix anything within 24 hours. They cut a big hole in a tenants wall and left it like that for almost 6 months.

we just moved in before thanksgiving . the first rain that night the ceiling and wall[ big bubbles pushing out ] started leaking badly . it was so bad it pushed our museum framed print off the wall at 3:30AM and crushed the frame and sent the glass everywhere [ lucky we were not hurt ]. we caught a bucket of water so it would not ruin the new carpet or the unit below us . before we moved in the dishwasher had mold in it but they did replace it. however, the ceiling fan was dirty and was to be cleaned . it was cleaned but they broke a blade [ hanging down ] reported it and then reported it again and was said OH i forgot to put in a work order . it should have been fixed when they broke it . is someone protecting the maintence dept. they think the leak is a roof problem as the ceiling and wall have been repaired before [ not a pretty job] but i think it's a internal drain problem . the outside drain flow is located above and outside rigth where the water is flowing in. management or ownership doesn't understand the term "quite enjoyment " and since this a previous problem and if we don't get satisfaction i will have my attorney address this situation. my guess they are used to getting away with this judging from the previous posts . i will keep you posted on the results .
