I moved in with a friend of mine who was already renting with this complex. Before I moved in my friend was telling me how she had been trying to get them to replace the carpet every since she moved in and they refused to do it, the carpet had a lot of stains and no padding left under it, it was like walking on the sidewalk outside. When I moved in they didnt require for me to pay an application fee and i later found out that my roommate wasnt made to pay one either(I'm black, my roommate is white), so okay no biggie, right' I had no complaints with anything until my boyfriend moved in with us. He first came to visit before actually moving in. The first day that he was there one of our neighbors asked my roommate if she was aware that there was a BLACK man in her apartment that day, she told them yes and explained that he was my boyfriend visiting. When it came time for him to be added to the lease they all of asudden wanted an application fee. I told the office people that neither me nor my roommate payed an application fee so why do want one from him seeing as how we would only b there for a approx. 2 more months because we were planning to move out and get our own place. They didnt care, they still wanted him on lease and said we had 3 days to do it or else we would all be evicted, only problem was, they never told me this, they kept calling my roommate who was on a 2week vacation and pestering her about it, she kept telling them to talk to me since I 2 was on the lease and since it was about me and my boyfriend, but they never did. I went to the office and talked to them about the situation but that was pointless cuz all they did was continue to call her to ask her for info I had already given them, it was like what I had to told them meant nothing to them. The neighbors were always watching us as if we had no business liveing there. They all spoke and acted nice but I soon learned that it was just a way for them to be in our business. my boyfriend and I eventually moved out early because it was just to stressful. The apartments are nice and they dont have any bug or maintanence problems(besides occasional remodeling), no car thefts or break in's but the rent is outrageously high. You could get a house across the street for less than what you would pay in rent here, thats why my friend needed a roommate to began with. If you can handle the contious stares,fake smiles that the neighbors give and the house note that you would be paying, then it would be a nice to place to live, so enjoy.
