The Good, the Bad & the Ugly

The Good: The trees are a nice perk of this complex.
They offer much-needed summertime shade.
The area is off the main arterial roads, and the neighborhood is nice to walk around.
There are always lots of families walking around.
There's a people park, a fenced in dog park, and areas to play sports right across the street.
You are so close to ASU and the bars and shops of down town Tempe are within walking distance.
The Bad: Aimco is a large property-management company.
As such they do not empower the staff here to really want to make a positive impact in the community.
The person who helps you sign your lease will not be there in a year when you go to renew.
With turnover like that, how would anyone want to care about its tenants' The maintenance staff make the cheapest half-*ssed repairs I have ever witnessed.
Youd be better off reading a do-it-yourself guide if you want something fixed and dont want repair crew coming back 5 times to get it right.
They may have painted the buildings in February of 2005, but they slapped it over years of neglect and rotting wood.
They also dont know how to properly care for the large trees (many are diseased and carry dead wood) and the shrubbery plantings have all but died because the irrigation systems are non-functioning.
The Ugly: Expect to find 3-inch long sewer cockroaches crawling out of your drains in the warmer months of the year.
You will also have to contend with thin, thin under- insulated windows and cinderblock wall construction which do nothing for safety, hot/cold days/nights, or the screaming airplanes overhead.
I have also seen people (homeless & other residents) dumpster diving on a regular basis.
They have it down to a science with their long poles and a hook on the end! And could someone PLEASE resurface the parking lot areas' Talk about looking like a ghetto!
