Campus Pointe Apartments

It is one of the worst apartments around here. But what can you do' It is within walking distance to/from the university.
Pros:
1.Fairly friendly office staff.
2.Good price with utilities included (although price keeps going up).
3.Close to the university.
4.Decent landscaping and parking availability.
5.Good swimming pool.
Cons:
1.Infested with roaches.
2.Frequently out of air conditioning (A big NO for Arizona's climate) for long periods of time and hot water. You cannot control the air conditioning/heat: It is either on or off, determined by the front office.
2.Noisy neighbors and not the safest neighborhood. The crappy, thin building material surely doesn't help, either.
3.The vast majority of the equipment in the gym had been broken for over a year and they are never fixed.
4.Their laundry room does not get much cleaning and you can see roaches while you do your laundry.

Our new management staff is here to address your needs. We have a great location and a great price, but we want to continue to focus on improving the property. We have a weekly pest control service to take care of any pest problems you may have. There is one large A/C system for the property and we always have cool air in the summer and heat in the winter. Utilities are included with your rent! Our new maintenance team has been very diligent in handling any repairs to the community and will continue to do so. We also have a new housekeeper who will focus on keeping the laundry rooms and all other common areas clean. Please always feel free to bring your concerns directly to the management team.

The information below serves as an addendum to my review, and partially as a response to the comments left by the apartment personnel regarding my review. It was ironic, and a blatant lie that the representatives would post a response of "always having cool running A/C (air conditioning)." Just some quick examples: The A/C was down from the afternoon of Sunday, July 5, to roughly 1:30 AM on Tuesday, July 7, 2009. That was over 30 hours of non-functioning A/C in Arizona. I was not able to stay in the apartment all day due to the heat and could not use my desktop computer for my work for the entire day on Monday. Despite the fact that my work progress was delayed, having to stay out in buildings that have A/C and eating out was an unwanted and unexpected expense.
Below are additional A/C down times during the summer of 2009:
For about 4 hours on the morning of Wednesday, July 8.
From 10:30 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, July 12.
For more than 4 hours after 9:30 PM, Monday, July 27.
From 10 PM to 1 AM, Monday, August 3.
From midnight to 6 AM, Thursday, August 6.
From 10 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday, August 18.
For 4 hours around midnight on Saturday, August 23.
The records speak for themselves. Even just the first 3 cases made a total of 3 separate accounts in just one single week. Besides, these were the times and days that I encountered nonfunctioning A/C when I was in my apartment. Being a student, I am frequently outside or at school, so there could have been more incidents that I missed while I wasn't around. The honesty of the representative's response to my posting about always having cool running A/C is questionable.
