Not so bad

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
I lived at Desert Palm for 2 years (2004-2005), and overall I really liked my apartment. I agree w/ the other reviewers that the management/office staff are not the friendliest, most competent people. But, quite honestly, I almost never had to deal with them. My apartment was very cute and had an amazing amount of closet space. I am a single female and I always felt very safe while living there. I was also a student at ASU, and loved the convenience of walking to class everday. Especially, since parking costs have increased astronomically over the years. Your experience at Desert Palm can depend greatly upon the decency of your neighbors. Toward the end of my second lease a guy moved into the apartment below me and blasted rap music at all hours of the night. I also had some new neighbors move into the apartment next to me that cooked every meal using an insane amount of curry, and the odor crept into my apartment and stayed there for the remaining period of my lease. The gym and the laundry room are awful. The pools are decent and are kept clean. If you are a student at ASU who is only planning on living here for a couple of years, I think you will find it to be a positive experience overall.
