After living at Eastridge for a year, this is my wisdom:

Cons:
-Noise! Trash collection gets earlier all the time--this week we were awakened at 3:45AM to the deafening crashing of the dumpsters being emptied. Insulation is also an issue--you will hear every word of every conversation that takes place in the courtyard, and you'll learn to know exactly what TV shows and music your neighbor likes, no matter how nice they are about keeping it down.

-Don't fall! Balconies/ stairs to second floor apartments are in rough shape. The stairs shake and groan when you walk on them, and the balconies very badly need to be repainted.

-Sprinklers, which do a great job keeping the place green and pretty, also spray the sidewalks, making the surfaces uber slippery-I have had several friends wipe out, and I have, too!

-Everyone uses the pool, and by that I mean, all of Tempe! :-) Haha! High school kids, etc. from the area hop the fence to the pool regularly and party there during the nights--can be kind of disruptive.

Pros:
-Feel acknowledged! Very friendly, efficient staff. They know you by face,and, in most cases, by name. Property Manager Julie is the greatest and takes care of any problems you have right away. Office is open 7 days a week and is always furnished with snacks and goodies!;-)

-Feel Safe! The area seems to be very safe from car/apartment break-ins, but DO NOT chain your bike to the racks or it'll be stripped by morning. Very well-lit and all shrubs are short enough that no one could hide in them. As a student living alone, I appreciate that.

--Covered Parking! Assigned spot beside your place. Guest parking close by.

--Walk barefoot! Very, very clean grounds with lots of trees, grassy courtyards, and flowers. I walk barefoot around the property all the time, and I don't have to worry about pet "poo" because there are special stations all over the place with gloves, baggies and waste recepticles. There is a fine for anyone who does not pick up after their pet.

-Pool and hot tub almost always sparkling.

-Tennis and golf provisions--I don't use them, but it's nice they're availble if I DID!

-Free membership to Pure Fitness!

-5-minute walking distance from two grocery stores, two banks, a gas station, a Walgreens, Blockbuster and lots of awesome places to eat (Outback, Boston Market, Papa John's, Sweet Tomatoes, Baskin Robbins, Streets of NY Brewery, YC's, etc.)

-Apartments have lots of closet and storage space, large bathrooms, and a huge picture window in the living room.

I like it here--the only reason I would move is for a change of scenery! :-) Good luck!
