I've lived at Elliot's for almost a year. True, if you live on the first floor, you're bound to know the schedule of your neighbor upstairs. You can hear when the people in your hallway leave because the doors are heavy, but it's not the end of the world. Maintenance seems friendly and things will break down and go wrong in apartments. My feeling...if you wait for 10 monthes for "the office" to fix your problem, maybe you should try it yourself after 2. People who own houses don't have maintenace people they can call FOR FREE, and they fix their own problems for a fee.
I have had a roach problem in the past, but it's as easy as walking up to the office and putting your name on the "Spray List." Now, no more roaches. This isn't The Pointe or The Buttes people, but home is where you hang your hat. And if you're not happy, MOVE! Don't re-sign your lease if you're unhappy. The apartments do MINORLY fall apart from time to time, but that is expected from an older complex.
I haven't used the pool yet, but anticipate utilizing it this summer. It looks clean and I've seen people there during the winter season, as well. The laundry area is well kept, with the exception of discurtious tenants leaving their laundry to occupy the machines.
There is some noise at the complex; college students, children, pets, etc., but you will get that anywhere you move, unless you live in the country. I work nights and during the day, some of these tenants get very loud in the hallways and outside my windows, but you learn to deal. If these "unhappy" tenants are so miserable and need someone to wipe their butts for them, they should move back in with their mommies! Elliots is a great place to live and I would recommend it to anyone. Rent is cheap...and the office personell is friendly and always willing listen and act. It may not be right when I want them to, but I understand there are other people living at this wonderful place, and not just me! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK ELLIOT'S!
