I had previously given Fernwood Apartments a pretty good review on here, but after my overall experience with the move-out, I have changed my opinion of the place. About 3 weeks after moving out, I received a move-out inspection form which stated that I owed a total of $753 in move-out expenses. They were attempting to charge me $300 for carpet that wasn't new to begin with (and after living there for 18 months), $70 for trash removal (for 7 bags of trash that they supposedly removed from an empty apartment), and many other random ridiculous fees. I responded by asking for proof of these damages and never heard from them. I would definitely recommend shopping around, as the neighborhood seems to have gone downhill since I lived there, and they were beginning to develop a roach problem.

It's kinda hard to believe that someone is going to charge you those charges if the apartment was left clean, and no damages were done. I think the only reason you posted a bad review, is because you received the charges, and you got mad, so you are acting out of anger. I think you are being very immature, because most likely, you deserved those charges. Oh, and about the roach problem, did you ever approach managment about pest control, because most propertys offer free pest control. I also find it very hard to believe that you actually approached management about the charges you incurred and they denied you. People need to grow up, and take responsibility for the actions.

The reason they never responded to me is because those charges were bogus, and I believe they do that to everyone upon move-out, just to see who is dumb enough to pay them. And about the roach problem: I mentioned it to them on more than one occasion. I went so far as to completely empty all cupboards and drawers and leave them open for the exterminator to do a very thorough job, but the roaches remained. It was one of the key factors in my move-out decision. Care to rebuttal, anonymous?
