They Cheat You on Move Out Cost - I Hate This Place

It looked good at first, but boy was I wrong.
It is loud and noisy, there are bugs, and we had our car vandalized in our parking space.
There is a lot of crime in the area and I did not feel safe.
We had a toilet block up and it took them months to get it partially fixed.
On the move out we left the apartment very clean, we spent more than 24 hours working on the place.
They still made up over $50 in charges.
When we complained they revised the cleaning charge HIGHER to over $150.
The apartment manager who calls himself the "accountant" was very threatening and claimed he suddenly discovered 3 bleach stains on the carpet which had been missed on the first inspection.
We never used any bleach on the carpet and the first inspection reported the carpets were fine.
In protest I paid the first cleaning bill, but I refused to pay the "revised" bill.
I've had to retain a lawyer to protect me from this company.
I filed a complaint with the BBB.
DO NOT LIVE HERE.
They will cheat you on the cleaning charges when you move out and they will harass you if you complain.
This place is going downhill fast.

To respond to your first complaint...It's Tempe, it's a desert, IT"S TEMPE. Anyone that takes the time to look understands that Tempe has crime. Anyone moving any where away from Tempe will find they have crime there too. So sorry that some random person chose a random car (assuming you didn't piss anybody off) and did a random act of violence. Seems to me that if other people have had good luck with maintenance here and you're mad, you're probaly exagerating a little because of this...I think it is really cool that no one on this site has ever had a dirty apt and always cleans to the fullest ability when they move out. I know I have been charged for things on moving out, but i have also avoided it by doing the inspection with the people and having them sign something. This will cover my butt in the long run. Maybe you lawyer should have told you to do this...wait i forgot you got your lawyer after the damage... Again so sorry. The BBB what are you 80yrs old.

i certainly hope "tomcollinsplease" is not the mgr of this complex. he definately has an attitude problem. my son plans on living there this yr during school. i'll will try & pursued him to look elsewhere. from what i've read, it seems in disrepair & nothing gets fixed. and to rip people of on minor cleaning technicalities when they move out is wrong. isn't that what the preparation fee is for?
