Rent Here if You Don't Have a Car.

I lived at Galleria Palms for 2 years. Sure, the place is full of potheads, but what do you expect from a place that hosts a bunch of ASU students' (No offense to those who actually go to ASU to get a degree).
The main pool is phenomenal; I miss that pool the most! The fitness center is great and none of the machinery snags like at the current place I live. The office people are generally nice but most of the time they're unsure of policies. They have some dumb rules, like giving you a pass which you must present to the security guards should you ever get questioned.
And about security--they only ask people to prove they live in the apartment complex at night. All they ask for though is what apartment you live in, so basically you could just make up a random number and they'd accept that. It's kinda crappy security.
The reason I stated it is best to live here if you don't have a car is because during my stay at Galleria, two of my roommates got their cars broken into. One of my roommates got her tire stolen with her own tire jack!! The other got her CD player stolen. However, the first roommate had had the car sitting there for 5 months because it died in October and she didn't bother even TRYING to get it fixed until June, when the tire jacking happened. The other roommate was a complete idiot and left her car door unlocked. Both of these girls also didn't have alarms on their car.
Another reason it is good to live here if you DON'T have a car is because the parking SUCKS!! You only get one parking spot assigned to you and half of the time that's taken by a stupid visitor (however, they do tow cars at Galleria like nobody's business.) On a Friday night, you have to get home early if you want a parking spot anywhere!
The walls at Galleria are also paper thin, but I'm beginning to think that all apartment complex in the Phoenix area are like that. You can hear people coming and going, the air conditioner on the bottom floor vibrates the top floor, and if you live next to party hosts, expect to be kept up late at night (unless you're one of those people who call the police for noise complaints.)
So if you can deal with car theft, annoying security, and loud noises, Galleria shouldn't be too bad of a place for you.
