Lakefront at West Bay formerly Lakefront Apartment Homes
< | >
Why I moved into Lakefront:
I liked the water features flowing between the buildings, the easy private lake access and the closness to ASU and MCC campuses.
I quickly learned that the staff was disorganized. On the day I was to arrive to move in they said that my apartment wasn't ready for another week. I had paperwork validating my move in date. They compensated by moving me to another vacant apartment. To get back at my complaint, they moved me to a lower level apartment right next door to the trash chute. Trash falls at all hours of the night, bang bang bang you hear it fall all the way down!
I liked that parking wasn't arranged at first, until I realized there wasn't enough parking! Many people park by the fire hydrant as did I until it was towed. (My fault!)Covered parking is very limited and fills up quickly. Covered parking provides the only light for the outside of the complex. I don't think it's all that safe.
As for noise, I was expecting it as it is mainly college students that reside here. It is a bit out of hand, though. The loud cars peeling out on the speed bumps is a weekly occurrence. No exaggeration.
I did experience maintenance problems as well. In my opinion, it wasn't taken care of in a timely manner nor did the staff follow procedure set forth by the EPA regarding mold prevention. Luckily, though mold did not grow in my carpet or cabinets after my kitchen sink was backed up and overflowing for 3 days. Yes 3 days.
I'm about to move out after 9 months of living here and I do wish I would have read the reviews before making my decision to live here. Even knowing most people gravitate toward the negative and exaggerate it.
I'll put it this way: I'd never allow my friends or family to sign a lease here. It's waaaay too expensive for the small living space. There's much better things out there...keep looking!
Keep in mind:
1. No microwave
2. Washer and Dryers are not in the units. Although there are several laundry rooms, the coinless feature will become an inconvenience if you are not able to recharge it during office hours.
3. Office staff speak English as a second language.
4. There are SEVERAL plumbing complaints posted.
5. Elevators took from November of 06 to April to be fully repaired.
6. Absolutely no cabinet or drawer space.
7. Lower level apartments provide no protection to your sliding doors, therefore you are unable to put any furniture out there.
