Could be worse

I lived here for most of 2004 (12 month lease) and didn't really have too many problems.
Parking is OK in that you do get a reserved parking spot, but they are small and it can be very difficult to get out of your vehicle if one of the carport suuport beams is next to your car. Also there is limited space for non-reserved parking so visitors may have to drive around the complex before they find an open spot.
Noise wasn't really an issue for me. I lived on the second level and only heard the annoying barking of the little dog across the hall. I noticed that a lot of people on here had problems with leaf blowing in the morning. Here again, I never noticed it being a problem since I was on the second level, but could definitely see it as a problem for ground level residents.
The grounds were taken care of fairly well and it is nice to have the stream running thought the complex, which usually looked clean, but water attracts mosquitoes and other annoying insects.
I felt fairly safe in the complex, but that had more to do with that general area in Tempe. There were numerous times that the West entrance gate was always open even though it should have been closed. There would be periods of almost a month before it was fixed. Lighting seemed OK in the complex and shrubs seemed to be kept back from the walkways.
I like the construction of my apt and the look of the building themselves. Lots of storage area in the kitchen and bedroom. I did not like the kind of faucet the bathroom tub had (have to see it for yourself to see what I mean). For some reason, the bathroom didn't have a medicine cabinet (even though there was more than enough room on the wall for one). I had to keep all of my bathroom stuff on the counter and in the drawers.
Maintenance usually seemed to be on the ball. The only problems I had were with the garbage disposal and shower head. The shower head problem was fixed quickly, but when they "fixed" the garbage disposal, all they did was remove the broken blades that were in there. Didn't really do much to improve the performance of the disposal. Pool maintenace always seemed to be going on (mostly with shocking it). What bothered me about it was that you have to go through the pool area in order to get to the tennis and basketball courts and if they locked the gates, then you would have to go through the fitness center to get to the courts. I didn't pay the deposit to get a fitness center key, so I was out of luck on a number of occasions when I wanted to play some tennis. Speaking of tennis, they have had a major problem with the lights in the tennis court. After making repeated calls to the office. I finally found out that they were going to have to get an outside vendor to change out the faulty lights, that whole ordeal went close to two months, and when I moved out, the same problem was happening again. VERY ANNOYING!!!
There have been a number of new office staff since I moved in there, but I didn't have any bad experiences with them. They seem pleasant enough.
The only thing people prospective tenents should be sure to do if they decide to live here is that they mark down everything they notice out of place when they fill out their initial walkthrough sheet. I was disappointed that I didn't get all of my deposit back because of things that I apparently didn't notice when I first moved in.
All in all, not too bad a place
