I'm a college student who lived at Mission Springs for about a year and a half. MS has been good to me. Office staff has been courteous and helpful.

Rent: As a college student rent is reduced which is nice. Still it's a bit much. Considering the nice neighborhood of the place, I can justify the cost a bit.

Grounds: After MS was bought out rent has gone up. However MS has been overhauling every vacated apartment and the entire grounds. They have repainted all buildings, improved night lighting and have hired a night security guard who walks the grounds. It's nice to know that they wish to create a better and safer living environment.

Apartment: As far as roaches I read about here, I haven't had any problems nor heard of any. Maybe these people should have took out the trash and kept the place clean. In fact I didn't have any bug problems at all. Not indoors or outdoors.

Rooms are big and spacious, especially if you live upstairs. My only complaint would be that the air conditioning just goes and goes for ever. I hate it. The unit is really loud and can drive you insane with the constant white noise.

Safety: MS is a gated community. However anyone can just walk right on. It's just the driveways are gated. It doesn't help that you can get through the gate by either tailgating someone in or pressing # and any four digit number until you get access. Every night car alarms go off, usually from the neighboring apt complex. Still, your car is at risk of theft. I didn't have a car, used a bike. Sad think is, you can't even trust your porch. Locked up with a heavy chain, my bike was stolen one night. Other than that, I haven't had any problems walking around at night. Don't let yourself look like a target!

Mission Springs is a good place. Clean up after yourself, and take responsible measures to protect yourself and property. I've done so and would live there again if I ever come back to the area.
